Whatsapp on iPad

How to run Whatsapp on your iPad?

I've been asking for an English version of this tutorial. And here it is!

Disclaimer: You may experience system crash and/or data loss during the procedures. I do not guarantee this tutorial is 100% work. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Preparation:

1. A jailbroken iPhone (one-time only, you could borrow it from your friend)
   i、 Install iFile;
   ii、 Install UDID Faker;
   iii、 Install Whatsapp;

2. A jailbroken iPad
   i、 Install iFile;
   ii、 Install UDID Faker;
   iii、 Install Whatsapp (through installous);

Step by step:
  1. Launch UDID Faker on iPad. Write down UDID of this iPad;
  2. Launch UDID Faker on iPhone. Alter UDID to iPad’s for Whatsapp. Make sure Whatsapp on iPhone is not running;
  3. Launch Whatsapp on iPhone. Whatsapp will be forced switch to registration screen. Caution: This process will delete ALL Whatsapp data in this iPhone. Make sure you have backup all wanted data. If you don’t know how to do that, please reference “Backup” section;
  4. Register a phone number you wish to use that on your iPad and complete the registration. The desired phone number is not requested to put into this iPhone. You just to have to make sure the number can receive SMS;
  5. You could able to use Whatsapp normally on this iPhone now. Now kill Whatsapp.
  6. Launch iFile on iPhone and find Whatsapp application folder. Copy Library > Preference > net.whatsapp.Whatsapp.plist to the same directory on iPad; You have to make sure Whatsapp on both devices are not running;
  7. Done! You can now enjoy Whatsapp on iPad!
  8. Run UDID Faker on iPhone and reset UDID on Whatsapp;
  9. Run Whatsapp on iPhone and register the phone number it used to be on this iPhone;
  10. You can return the iPhone to your friend now!
You may delete UDID Faker after completion. I suggest retaining iFile since it’s super useful.

Backup:

How do you backup Whatsapp data on iPhone and restore them back for your kindly friend who borrowed you that?
  1. Run iFile and find Whatsapp application folder;
  2. Compress “Documents”, “Library”, “tmp” for backup;
  3. Restore the compressed file after completion. All data has restored and just like before!
On the other hand, keep in mind to backup Library > Preference > net.whatsapp.Whatsapp.plist on your iPad. You can consider that is a key to run Whatsapp on your iPad. You loss it, Whatsapp lockdown.

If you want to know every detail of the steps and reasons, please wait for my supplementary, eventually.

Sorry if there’s glitches for my English. It’s not my mother tongue.
